Got the motor back from the builder and I can't set the commutator rod to the timer that now looks like a football.

To make matters worse the motor won't fit with these 4 extra cylinders, any input would be great.

That's a common problem with older Fords ... cylinder proliferation. It often happens with oldedr engines that have not been properly stored in a cool, dry place. It can usually be reversed by placing the engine in a slow oven at 270 F for 8 to 12 hours. Many people report that basting the engine every half hour during baking with Hadacol gets the best results. After baking, serve with '32 frame on a bed of red cabbage. Sweet, nothing sounds like a flat head ford V8. They have heating problems, easy fix, those two pumps just moved the water way to fast!

We used to race a flathead as a stock car. As was said, the two pumps just moved the water too fast - we did not run thermostats, we just couldn't make it cool with them. The solution was to remove half the blades in the water pumps; it sounds counter-intuitive, but it worked!

It looks like your engine went into labor and produced conjoined twins!
