Should I Care About Skirt Cuts?

Post by ivaldes1 » Tue Apr 06, 2021 10:35 pm

My skirts came from another Speedster. They have previous cut outs on them. See picture. I suspect these will be covered when I put the flat wood Speedster body and firewall on?

Since you are building a speedster, it doesn't need to be authentic. I would say, if you can get them to stay in place and the cuts don't show from the outside, Go for it. If they show, you can weld some sheet metal in place and finish it to match.

are you planning on putting a top access cover where the battery goes? My speedster doesn't have one(I didn't build car), so the battery is a pain to get to from underneath.
