MTFCSD overnite tour to Borrego Desert

This weekend the MTFCSD organized an Model T tour into the Borrego Desert. Yesterday we drove from Ramona and visited an earthquake fault in the desert. We had a geologist in the group and indeed we found two major earthquake faults. Along the way the desert flowers were in bloom, not really looking like desert except for the sandy trails.
Today we visited the home of Marshall South who lived in the area during the 1930. I played him in a film as he had a Model t. The film was a documentary about his life and I didn’t have to speak nor were there any closeups. All I had to do was wear overalls and drive an old T. I used my 1917 which is now in England. Not much left of the house, it was almost complete when we took Carolyn there in the 1970s. Some of the stills in the film were from pictures we took on that 1970 trip.
Yesterday we had no problems except for the snow going over the mountains east of San Diego but today one of the cars was put on the trailer as it was making nasty noises.

I tried to post this in the above but failed. I just cannot Place pictures where I need them.....
This is the view from the South home. If you look carefully in the middle lady you can see two red Model Ts. One is my 1914.

It looks more impressive on the camera screen. The house is at 3214 feet altitude and the cars at about 2500.
I just heard from the lady who wrote the film script, she remembers the 17😊

I was just talking to my brother who is on a trip to the southwest about going to the Anza Borrego Desert. It is one of the places on my need to see list. It looks like you had a great trip. I love driving a T in the desert.

I love spring in the desert. I've been to Anza-Borrego several times, but not yet in a Model T. So it's on my list of future Model T destinations.

The desert blooms in spring.
