Wrench and bead breaker

5-Z-249 is generator third brush wrench.

The wrench would need to be for 1919 or later, because the earlier cars did not have a generator.

And used to adjust the output of your generator by moving the third brush's position...

Guess there were two styles of the wrench. I have seen others like the one shown without the end for taking off the nut that attaches the cut out to the post. I thought they were something someone modified, but guess not. It is used to loosen/tighten the nut that holds the 3rd brush so output can be adjusted. If you use it on running car, suggest wrapping it with tape in the bend area so does not short out on generator case.
