I don't like the BEEP-BEEP that my turn signal makes

My 6 volt turn signal kit came with a ticking flasher that I can't hear. So I added an electronic beeper that works great and is loud. The problem is that the BEEP is a bit obnoxious. Is there an add-on TICK-TOCK noise maker that I can replace the BEEPER with?

Since Model T's had no turn signals, why not remove it, and your troubles are over!

Bill,
I was able to place a piece of duct tape over my loud turn signal beeper. It dampened the sound but is still loud enough to be heard. If you were in Texas I would suggest it be herd.
Have a great day,
Dom

You may find the buzzer more pleasant listening . also a light on Your dash that blinks when turn signal is flashing. and You need a special fuse panel to make sure all that non factory electrical stuff doesn't go up in smoke.
Image may be a representation. See specs for product details.

I went to great lengths to NOT have a modern turn signal set up on my
truck, buying period arrow lights off eBay and fabricating a lever on the
column that looks like a 1/3 size version of the throttle and spark levers.
I then ordered some LED diodes, so small you can hardly see them until
they light up, and placed them on a flat black piece of material that just
barely hangs down below the dash on the left side. Wired in series, two
colors tell me which blinker is firing at a glance, so I don't go driving around
with a blinker on. No sound, no one would ever notice them unless in the driver's
seat as they are blinking, and the actual lights themselves are appropriate
size and show arrows when flashing, AND they are period correct and not
some obnoxious modern plastic LED's for a home made trailer or similar.
I also added a period "STOP" light that fires when the brakes are applied.

I use hand signals. Problem is, nobody knows them and people wave at me when I give a hand signal. Old timers like them and remember when you had to know them to get your license. bobt

Turn signals save lives. All 5 of my Model T's have turn signals. Back to my question- Is there an add-on TICK-TOCK noise maker that I can replace the BEEPER with?

NO! But You might try moving the flasher to the steering column where You might be able to hear it. or try attaching flasher to a tin can with one end removed which will act like a mechanical amplifier. use JB weld or other hard setting glue which should transmit the sound from the flasher to the can. like the old wind up phonograph horns. crude. yes! but might work.

Bill,
I'm not aware of commercial modules for this purpose, however it's reasonably straightforward to make something that will do the job.
It would involve a little soldering / electronics work though - are you up for that? If so I'll try and knock something up here and let you know how to go about it...

I put a piece of tape over mine as Dom posted above and it still can be heard but is not annoying any more. I used electrical tape.

Luke- I may settle for a Buzzer. They are all over the internet and are used on motorcycles. They seem to override the sound of the motor. For me, all that I'll have to do is disconnect the beeper and then connect the buzzer. Two wires. They are classified as 12v but will operate on 5v or greater.

Bill, I just bought two off Amazon. Ad said very loud, operates on 12 volt but can be used as low as 3 volts. What a joke. 6 volts hook up sound like a trouser fart. 12 volt was not much better. One review said the sound was obnoxiously loud. Both were the same for me. The search starts again!

Have you considered swapping out the audible buzzer relay with a modern clicking type of relay? I too would probably be annoyed with a buzzer sound inside my car, but have never been bothered by the click click sound of a turn signal. Jim Patrick

Thinking outside the box here, run that 6v wire to a coil, and run
that to a wire that you sit on. You won't have to listen to that pesky
beeper, but you'll be acutely aware of the blinkers being on !
You can thank me later .....

Try:
www.floydbell.com . They make audible alarms with a "chime" sound that have adjustable volume, also versions that have varying levels of sound output.
Consider part number: CH-V09-525-Q (F)
The web site lets you listen to the alarm sound of the various products.

The one that sounds like a trouser fart might be troublesome. Your passengers might think you were turning when you weren't...especially after a bowl of chili.

Jim- the flasher module on my set-up makes a click click sound, but it's not loud enough to hear if the motor is running, certainly not loud enough to hear @ 30 mph.

Hey Tom. Using your cell phone, if you know how to make a recording or video of your signal system making a trouser fart, then send the recording to my cell phone. Thanks, man!

Same here, no sympathy from me, Model Ts are not supposed to have turn signals.
