A Very Special Thank You!

Post by Henry K. Lee » Fri May 14, 2021 8:00 pm

Dennis Fleming with Gang and Luray VFW,

I have to say without a doubt you folks really made my dear old Dad (Robert E Lee) very happy in his final years at Luray! He always told me about the good ole days of swap meets of 1950’s, 1960’s, and how it used to be before all the commercialism came into the picture.

You folks really made everyone feel as family and how a club should be! Dad says, “Thank You!” Trust me being his son, those older folks of hard knocks don’t give those compliments out easy!

I encourage anyone from afar to join us next year for more than just a great time but an AWESOME time with these folks! We will be there!

All the Very Best,

Humbled Hank Lee

I have read a fair amount about Robt. E. Lee, but can recall no mention
of him having an interest in old car swap meets. Was he a Ford guy, or did
he like other makes too ?
More people are doing it today than ever before !

Joe Bell says it's better than Chickasha, and several others have also said it's great. I guess I have to go next year. :)

Yes, it was a great swap meet. I got to see a lot of friends, and meet a lot of people who are active on the forum, or active in the MTFCA and MTFCI.
Thanks to Dennis and all the others who make this event happen. CHARLIE

Yessssss - thanks to Dennis and crew, the whole club, the VFW and the weather-man for a fantastic swap meet. It was bigger than ever this year, sellers were serious with literally trailer loads to sell, and buyers were determined to find what they needed. It heard several comment - The good old days are back again!
We'll be back too!!!!!

Right back at you Dave!

Dad wants this in the fall too! I have never seen him enjoy a swap meet this much in my life. He states he is now homesick, LOL!

Hank, I also enjoyed putting a name with a face. I really enjoyed meeting your Dad. Us "young folks" can gain a wealth of knowledge if we keep our ears open and our mouths closed.

It made my day when you called to inform me that you and your Dad made it home safely.
