Amazing day. Good to meet you Stan. Still can't believe you didn't want to take my Stromberg.

Yep, good auction. I like the way you sold all the loose parts. Went pretty fast.

Some might be surprised by a little sign selling for 14 grand. I'm not. The prices of old signs have gone nuts in recent years.

It’s relevant to how much disposable money you have. If you are extremely wealthy, 14k is a night on the town. Even in the antique car and motorcycle world, it’s shocking the prices that are paid for just parts and memorabilia...

Stan, sounds like you had a good auction day; and the weather held for you.
Congratulations on another successful sale.
We are sorry that the US/ Canada border is still not open so we couldn't come down to participate.

We missed the Canadian T guys. It was amazing. Well over 300 people. No end of money. We had internet bidding, rehearsals, bought equipment, etc, had to run line of sight wifi signal 1/4 of a mile, receivers, etc. Had great signal. As usual there were a few complaints about internet bidding and it taking a few seconds longer but that's part for the course. Had one big mouth drunk later in the day and one jerk that blew up at Donna because of something. We escorted him off the property. He's some nut case. But we had hundreds of happy people.
The speedster was a little cheap but it needed work, didn't run, etc.
Too small for me.
I turned down 5 people that wanted me to come look at auctions between Saturday, yesterday and today. I'm probably done, can't get help, I can hardly walk some days, auctions are not fun like they used to be be. We live in the world of Amazon where people want instant service, are all in a hurry and have no sense of humor. I haven't heard an auctioneer tell a joke for years. It used to be part of the job. Now if you take a deep breath they are pissed. The sellers wanted this to be a tribute to their father and his eye for good cars and what to save. Donna got several complaints because I told where some of the cars came from, why he kept them. Etc.
Can't win.
Some people just flat refuse to do you-pick the way the rules are but I have never seen a better system for selling tons of parts.
But it was a good day, a good way to end 39 years and 435 auctions in 7 states and over 20 counties in Montana from one end to the other.
In a few years there will be no live auctions.

Stan,
It has been a good run, congratulations.
I have been to quite a number of your auctions (and others ) and can honestly say you are the best auctioneer I have encountered.
You are in charge of everything that happens on auction day and everything leading up to that day.
I particularly appreciate your banter; face it, auctions are social events for the majority of people there.
Yes, some come only to buy and don't appreciate your jokes.
Don't let them take you down.
When this crazy border opens again we will get together.........
Harry

Being 73 I am not as old as some but I remember going to auctions with my dad at an early age. It was get up have your breakfast do not monkey around dad was leaving early & many times we did not get home until dark. In 2007 dad had passed (in 1995), (mom left us in 2001), I finally was able to have a sale to move the rest of their possessions via auction. After discussing the sale with 3 auctioneers I chose an auctioneer I felt comfortable with, we had the sale with a mixture of a lot of stuff. I was surprised that the crowd scattered very early in the day, not like when I was a child. We have migrated to a very impatient society. Weather it is an auction or traveling on todays highways.
