I understand we are working with a lot of repro stuff but does anyone make a rear axle grease retainer cap that fits ? Put new caps on and discovered the outer flat surface is getting scraped by the recess in the hub. Tapped retainer on further same problem and when I tighten the axle nut using a 2 foot bar (as per the book) the wheel will not turn. Had to split the retainer with hammer and chisel to remove it. Put the old cap on and it works fine but of course I lost one. Bought one set from Snyders and another from Langs with the Langs set being even tighter. Both were bought for a ‘25.

You gotta beat that bad boy. I use a brake drum shaft & a 3# brass hammer. Beat it till it wont move anymore. Its good that it stays in place.
To remove, use a sharp edged, 2' pry bar with a spacer under for a leverage pivot. Patiently work each side a little @ a time or use 2 pry bars @ the same time. I have never had an issue that I blamed on the seal cap. Have come across axle/hub wear issues though.
