Hello group! I am new to the Model T hobby ( 5 months and on my second T!) and just purchased the start of a speedster. The engine is a 1925 and has a one piece intake and exhaust called a Vaporator. Does anyone have any information as to who made this and what if any performance upgrade it would provide over a regular two piece unit?

There are several period one piece intake/exhaust setups made by multiple company’s & I like them. You don’t have as much trouble with warping and the fuel is heated from the radiant heat. Be sure to inspect the manifold for cracks, leaks & rust through. I had a few on multiple Ts and they worked well. Hope that helps.

Looks like you also have a Waukesha head. Nice!

It’ll never warp!

A non-warping exhaust manifold would be nice. I swear I have replaced as many exhaust manifolds as I have worn out radiators!!

If you use the ring & gland setup (12 pc), you should not have warping issues. The current crop are made with heavier rings. One of my montana buddies has been making his own heaver rings from tubing for many years. Personally, the standard ring & glands have worked fine for me.

Looks similar to this popular 1920 combo manifold.
Nice accessory to go with that higher compression head.

Thanks for all the input and information! That Shurnuff ad is pretty cool.

PECK is another one piece manifold that came to my mind, but seeing Dan's ad seems to make a good argument for a Shurnuff. There was a N.O.S. Peck manifold on EBAY for weeks and it never sold.
