North Flank of the Golden Gate.
Reckless and suicidal 18% downward single lane one-way grade with no guardrail or shoulder over freezing shark infested waters. Would you have followed these “nuts” in a Model T?

Beautiful pics of a beautiful area. Wish I could do one. Seeing and driving anything on the G.G. bridge is on my bucket list. For now Mackinaw Bridge will have to do. Drove it long ago.
That was one nasty looking transmission screen load! Thanks for posting all the pics

Too bad the tour leader didn't have the nerve to descend the 18% grade! This was my second time. I guess some just don't have any faith in the cars they drive!

Whose transmission blew up, and how did that happen?

Re: 2022 GOLDEN GATE TOUR 4.0, May 30 - June 4, Don't Miss It.
The 18% decent was something of a let down as I started in Ford low and Ruckstell low. After a little way I went in Ford high and it was just fine in my old Coupe. My major problem was a driver error where I wanted to visit some part of the Bay Bridge and then got lost in the back streets of Sausaledo. Hopefully I won’t make that error this year.
The broken transmission wasn’t as bad as it looked. The low drum disintegrated and I found small crack in the reverse drum. Yes that is that remains of a low band drum. Fortunately the owner had some spares and I had them all magnafluxed so it’s probably good for another hundred years.
