Hot shot charger report

I installed a Fun Projects Hot Shot (John Regan) battery charger on my 1917 Touring. It converts the AC from the magneto into pulsating DC and will charge a 6 or 12 volt battery at 2 - 2.5 amps, like a trickle charger. I recently drove my T on a three day tour with only the Hot Shot to charge my battery. After 327 miles and 33 starts of my 12 volt geared starter, the battery indicated it still had an 89% charge. I use a 12 volt Odyssey PC925 AGM battery and the only thing constantly on is a old Garmin GPS I use for a Speedometer.

I was quite impressed with the Hot Shot. Maintaining almost a 90% charge after such usage is excellent in my view. Those of you who don't have generators would do well to consider it.

It's been my experience that, if it came from John Regan, it's good stuff and performs as advertised.

I have had one on my TT for a couple years. 6 volt. I drive often after dark getting home.
Havnt had to put a charger on it all season. I top it off with trickle chatger a couple times over the winter sleep.
Two thumbs up here.
