Came with a Model T recently purchased from an estate. Looks like some kind of hand pump....maybe for pressurizing a fluid or a tank?

Weed sprayer? Drench gun for cattle? Does it have check valves of any kind?

There is a groove around the bottom for an O ring maybe. Near the top, there are a couple of holes that are exposed when you pull the rod out and covered as you push it in. There is only one threaded connector at the end of it which is why I thought it might be used for pressurization. When you pull the center tube out, air is drawn in the small holes. As you press it down the air is trapped and you can feel pressure at the threaded connector. The item is made of brass which we thought meant it might be old.

Hi Tim,
When you tighten the nut does it lock the inner tube to the outer tube? If it does maybe its a trammel rod for setting gather & camber? If its some kind of pump maybe there is residue inside that will indicate what it was used for?

Craig, I'll have to check when I see my friend next. There is a fitting on the end which means it must have connected to something. It came with a bunch of Model T parts that were included with a car my friend bought. The seller bought it from his grandfather's estate so he hasn't got a clue.

Hank is selling what looks like a short version of this...a hand-operated fuel tank pressurization pump. If it is, the question is for what?
