Hello to all, does anyone know the height of the wood bows in the iron sockets on the 14 T touring. Also the measurement of the top irons.

I think there is some good information in these discussions.

Your dimensions should be very similar.

Fellow member, Mike Spazino Did the top on my 14 roadster using the published 15 dimensions. W/S is in the same place & irons are the same.
Came out FIRST class.

According to Ford, the front bow is driven 7" into its socket, and the inside edge of the bow has between 1" and 1-5/16" clearance in front of the top of the windshield frame. The #2 (first upright) bow height is 30-3/4" from the center of the "eye" (where the socket pivots on the body iron) to the underside of the wood bow. The #3 (second upright) is 32-1/4", measurements taken the same way. The rear bow is 29-1/2" from a horizontal line through the "eye" of #3 to the rearmost edge of the wood bow.
Hope this helps.

Should have mentioned that the above information was taken from the factory drawing for the 1914 touring top.

Thank you for the kind words John.
Something that should be mentioned here, as I have in other posts on this subject, the illustration that can be be found on this forum and other places, clearly illustrates a 1915 configuration on both Roadster and Touring.
This can be seen by the stamped sheet metal cowl that appears on the drawing. The '14s used a flat wooden firewall however, you will notice that the windshield placement on the '15s are straight up in the vertical position and do not use the tilted lower windshield half that ended with the discontinuance of the wood firewall.
The addition of the metal cowl eliminated the tilted lower windshield portion placing the position of the windshield in the exact position as it was without the tilted lower portion.
When John and I were mocking up the sockets and bows, we studied and measured for two weekends. We wanted everything to be spot on. It was well worth the extra work we put into it.
And the lunches we had were darn good too. Really enjoyed myself working on that top. Kinda sad it ended.

Measuring from the socket "eye", #2 & 3 are 23-1/2" and #4 is 28-1/2". These are original Ford measurements; reproduction sockets may vary.
