Has anyone ever added removable mats to their running boards to keep loose dirt and gravel out of the car?

I made this one up using part of an old floor mat and left over carpet. I made a leash for it out of left over trim so you can pull it in . Les

With a running board mat, folks can wipe their feet before entering !

So they won't track dust into the interior . . .

Geez! Where have you been driving it? I see why you'd like mats.

Tim..that's "my buddy Rich" out in farmland Idaho. Roasting out there and pretty dry too! He uses that car
all the time out in the fields with his doggie as a helper. Faithful car as is the dog!

Lizzie is a "using horse". Lots of mud on headlands in the new alfalfa seeding, but she cleans up well !

I have been producing running board leather pads for quite some time. I'm not a fan of brass or aluminum step plates and these leather pads have the same effect as the step plates but are temporary. The pad is the same size as the step plate, making it easy to enter the car using the pad. The leather strap attaches to the body top bow support and can easily be removed when showing the car. The strap keeps the pad from being lost and the passenger can pull in the pad once everyone is loaded. The pads come plain or with the Ford logo. I hope this helps. Russ Furstnow

Hi Russ, Your Leather Running Board Mats look interesting. Do you just sell them direct, or are they available through T parts vendors?
Thanks,
Keith

DITTO. Do they generally stay in place for driving, or do you haul them in?

Speedy, from Russ's description i think they're hauled in. With one strap they would be flopping around in the breeze.

Keith, I sell them direct, in fact they are not offered through the various vendors. The pad is pulled in by the passenger while driving. The cost of the mat is $35 plus shipping. Thanks for asking. Russ Furstnow

Russ' mat looks like an ideal solution. It'll keep your running board from looking like this !
Hoping to redeem myself. See ? Lizzie cleans up well. I don't abuse her, honest !
(By the way, Hannah -the dog- got a bath too !)
