Never seen one of these before.
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!

Perhaps right hand drive ? Be pretty crowded going off the right with the pedals & linkage in the way !

I’m betting this was on a counter clockwise marine application. I’ve seen one in my life, the thing ran backwards. I assume the only difference, if they use straight cut timing gears would be camshaft, starter and internal oil line.

If you study the oil capture system, you'll realize it is independent and indifferent to direction of engine rotation.

The "capture" screened funnel/spillway is facing forward towards the magnets so a considerable amount of oil is captured & directed to the outlet - doesn't matter which side the fitting is - gravity does the rest !

Daniel

Yes, and for the reason that Steve T stated

whether or not an individual finds the left facing outlet a feature or a folly would be up to them
