1920 C-Cab Gas Tank

I am having difficulty finding out what shape gas tank was used in a 1920 C-Cab TT. I've looked in Cimorelli, past forum posts, and anywhere else I can think of. No luck.

I believe the C-Cab trucks used oval gas tanks under the seat. But, I have a 1920 wood cab that has a round tank. The question: Is there a round or oval tank in the 1920 C-Cab truck? I believe it's oval, but it could be round.

Thank You All for reading this and helping this old guy out.

Terry

1920 would have come with what ever tank was used that year. In 1920 the TT was only sold as a chassis, you supplied the body. If it has a later C cab body on it, you would be using the oval tank. 1920 was the change over from round to oval. If you want to go with round tank, considering the lack of new tanks, here is an option; https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=101 ... 5523815548

Hello Mark,

Thank you for the reply. I believe they used the oval tank as it has a stock C-Cab on the chassis.

The 1920 Ford TT chassis would have used a round gas tank. The oval gas tank was frist used in the fall of 1920 with the lower seats in the new car bodies of 1921 style, but the TT chassis made in late 1920 would have used up the remaining round gas tanks in production. The outside companies building TT bodies would have designed their bodies to take a round gas tank in 1920 to early 1921. The Ford made TT C cab came out in 1924 and used a oval gas tank. If your truck has a Ford built 1924 C cab on your 1920 engined TT you will need a oval gas tank.
