I just received my 2 U&J carbs back from Stan Howe’s nephew. They’ve been in Helena MT for over a year. The original cork floats are shot. Can anybody fashion new floats from the vendor’s new material ?..George

I've made a few using Langs black float material and the original metal hinge hardware. Be careful to check clearances throughout it's travel and not make them too thick (the originals were quite thin). I use "model airplane sealant" on them even though they say it's not necessary. Keep the coating to a minimum as it adds weight.

The slug of float material the vendors sell is easy to work with, perhaps a little too easy. It is very easy to carve too much off. I messed up the first Holley G one I cut, but it taught me to be careful. I got 3 out of one slug, so it's not bad value.

Thank you Bruce and Allan for the suggestions and advice. Our Forum Friend Corey Walker is gonna give it a try. Hes had a great Holly G and NH reputation and experience.
