Correct 1911 Touring Headlamp Question?

Hello fellow Model T-ers,
These 1911 E&J 666 headlamps (color photos) have 5 angled football shaped holes in both sides of each vent cap.
However, Bruce Mcalley's book (black and white photos) shows the "correct lamps" as having either 5 small "round" holes or only 3 "larger" holes on each side of these cap vents.
So, I am hoping that one of you distinguished gentlemen might shed some light on this mismatch.

The 3rd picture is of a Jno Brown headlamp, not E&J.

I agree with John, it is not an E&J.

Thank you John and Herb for your comments that the third picture, the "3 hole lamp" pictured in McCalley's book, was manufactured by Jno Brown Co. That's why that particular one is different from the one I photographed.
Would you also have an opinion on whether or not the E&J "football vent" headlamps, (picture #4 and #5 in my above post), are correct for a 1911 Ford Touring car?

I doubt that a touring makes any difference. Both were used. Probably depended on the supply bid at the time of assembly and/or what was in the supply bin at the time. My Torpedo have the 666's.

Steven,
Football shaped vents on the E&J 666 is correct for 1911.
Some torpedo roadsters and my late 1911 have E&J 666 "no name" headlamps.

The E and J 666 lamps did come with variations to the bonnets on top and the side mounting brackets. I believe the earlier bonnets had the branding on a small brass plate riveted to the bonnet, while the later bonnets had the branding stamped into the actual bonnet. I do not know when the changes were made.
the side brackets can be like the ones in the last photo, or they can be a simple plain shape without the necking down around the fork arms. Again, i don't know which proceeded the other or when.
I guess that doesn't help much, other than to alert you to these details if you are looking to make a matched pair.
