FJ - Looks Like Dean Yoder Bagged A Jackalope ….

Post by FreighTer Jim » Mon Jul 26, 2021 11:44 am

Dean William Yoder is revered in The Model T Community for good reason - he drives his numerous Model T’s from the family farm in Iowa City, Iowa all over the United States …

From the Florida Keys to Alaska ….

I think he is Montana today ….

Looks like he bagged an elusive Jackalope

I love it.

Last weekend, I drove my T down the I-45 frontage road from Conroe (TX) into The Woodlands. Anyone who knows that stretch of interstate frontage knows it can be hairy....in a modern car.

But I did it in the T and was at an old car meetup and everyone was marveling at the fact that I made the trip.

My response was to thank them but tell them about this other guy named Dean Yoder who drives his T all over the US. Dean's example has given me the courage to expand my horizons (literally) in the T.

Dean has driven a Model T to 49 states. He says the only reason it's not 50 is that they haven't built the bridge yet. :)
Guys like Ben Yumori, Dean Yoder, and other long distance adventurers are an inspiration. I don't know if I'll make it to 49 states, but I aim to give it a go.
The inevitable often happens.

Rustyford you are a brave man along with Dean Yoder! I see your from Houston and we just got back from Galveston near Bayou Vista to see family.
Just this morning we saw on the news that I-45 from Galveston ,Houston to Dallas is one of the most dangerous if not the most dangerous stretches of roadway in the US!
We didn’t go on I-45 all the way back to the Waco area but a lot of the way. I can believe that it can be dangerous when on long stretches you get dirty looks and stares on a 5-6 lane highway when you driving no slower than 70-75 mph. Tailgating at 80 mph is crazy but I guess I’m just getting old when I see a guy weaving around the tight spaces on the road running 70 +++ mph gives me the creeps! I guess he got home alive!
