Model A engine
Has anyone seen a Model A engine in a Model T ? Will it fit? Does anyone have any photos of an A engine in a T frame?
Thanks

Why would you screw up a good T with a Model A Motor?

That's a good question Mike. There is no limit to our imaginations. I remember when putting Pinto engines in Model A's was a big thing. A friend decided to go the other way and put a Flathead V-8 in a Pinto. He never finished it having some driveline issues that lost his interest.
It's a great hobby with some strange choices.

Re: Model A engine
That would be really neat, in a sick sort of way. Notice, there are not many pinto's around any more? They are getting rare. A flathead V8 in a Pinto could be a similar sacrilege today?Rich Eagle wrote: ↑Wed Jul 28, 2021 11:51 amThat's a good question Mike. There is no limit to our imaginations. Re: Model A engine
One of my dreams is to put a V8 60 horse and trans, in a T, or maybe an A. An A would be easier, because an A's rear axle would probably handle the 60 horse unless abused, and the A's brakes, could easily be converted to hydraulic brakes.

Re: Model A engine
It is not very hard to put a V 8-60 in a T. Ken Whitaker did it in a 26 coupe. Ran slick. It’s still on the road today in Indiana! I helped. Another one at the Even Cork auction was set up the same way and had AC.
