Brass era Model T laundry van

Post by John E. Guitar » Tue Aug 03, 2021 1:12 am

I saw this photo posted on a different website. It look like an alumium body. The flag is a union jack so I guess it's somewhere in the old dart.

Shy a few bolts on the left front hub. :o The only thing I can see that could come close to dating the T would be the front spring is tapered, so 1915.

The hood former and firewall cover is Ford 1915-16, There is a horn button on top of the steering column. The windscreen has two same size panels and hinges with central pivots, all consistent with 1915-16. It appears to be a Ford factory cowl, so may well have been a tourer before being repurposed as a van. That style of van is typically English. My Haigh's chocolate van was originally built by Duncan and Fraser for the Monarch laundry. It was built on a used 1912 car chassis.

Allan from down under.
