Shims in transmission

Post by dykker5502 » Wed Aug 04, 2021 1:39 pm

I am about to assemble my transmission for the pick-up. As I recall from the previous reassmble I did, there is 3 shims on the tramsmission shaft between the brakedrum and the clutch hub. See the figure below.

The reason for my questiuon is that I have maybe 7 or 8 shims and I cant remember if they all came out of the transmission when I took it apart ½ year ago or more :-(
I'm wondering if ther is also say 3 shims on the transmission shaft before you put the gear assemble on the shaft? See drawing:

No other washers anywhere else. Those washers are used to get a proper clearance. Around .022" ?
See your service manual for the dimensional range.

OK, thanks! That was what I thought. I must have got those three shims mixed up with some I had on the workbench from another gearbox.
