What gauge or type of wire on the HCCT is used on the high voltage side from the coil to the spark ring?
If you use a brake drum for a coil ring is a small or large drum best and do you put the 16 lines in it to make counting sparks easier ?
My biggest problem is to get the drum centered as close as possible.

I would not worry about any lines. It will be pretty clear if there are any missing sparks out the 16. I have found missing sparks to be more of an issue with the pickup ring, not the coils or magneto. The Allen does not have any lines, the spark gap is on the outside of the drum and never have seen a need even if it had them. Double sparks and setting amp draw would be your main concern.

If you are using a small brake drum, note that the center hole should be opened up to prevent the spark from jumping to the center of the drum rather then the outside of the drum.
 

The Wire Gauge is not a concern, as the current is only flowing for a few seconds.

So 16 or 18 Gage wire is fine.

The real concern is the insulation on that wire has to withstand at least 2,500 volts or more with a super hot coil.
