So who is my local T mechanic for Ephrata PA ? I keep running out the prime.. runs fine when I get it going but starts and then shuts down in two seconds.. I'm ready to change my hot plate vaporizer for an NH... but what if that is not the problem, what if I have something else going on ? Any help would be greatly appreciated. What do you think ?

If you have a modern fuel filter installed, that may be your problem.

Check the little vent hole in your gas cap. Sometimes they get clogged resulting in your symptom.

The Hershey Museum is right down the road from you. They might be able to help or point you to a mechanic. I know they work on them because they have a small fleet for showing people how to drive them.

I dont have a filter... and gas flows freely to the carburetor..I think I'm losing prime because after it shuts down the motor is not primed, I need to choke it again to prime it to get it to fire.. I'm 90 %sure it the carburetor and maybe the fuel level.. I'm I thinking correctly ?

Have you tried making the fuel mixture a little more richer? Open the control needle just a little more. The engine should crank. If the engine keeps running that maybe a symptom of your problem.
Let the engine run till it warms up and then adjust for good idle speed.

if its hard to start also then check your intake gaskets and compression check for valves, Bob
had a speedster that did that once a piece of solder got loose in the gas tank and starved fuel
