Does this grey color have a common name used in other years besides the Model T? Would like to buy off the shelf rather than try to have it matched.

Machinery gray's were quite common over the years but varied. I would look at a good color chart from an equipment enamel company like Rust oleum or similar and choose one you like. Better yet would be a high temperature engine enamel. It may change somewhat with age.

The true color has probably changed with time and heat. To me it looks a little blue from what probably was a true grey.
Probably best way to match would be a color chart for a high temp enamel as Rich has said. Might not get it perfect but pretty close and remember the new one will change over time.

Only need high temp (1500*) for the exhaust manifold. Go to TSC and buy Ford gray for the engine.

Battleship gray was the color of the day. A light gray as in your pic. I used Northwest Airlines gray on an OT. Darned close.
Machinery gray is darker, yet prevalent as a replacement for Battleship gray in the 80's. They didn't know.
Both can turn blue in UV.
Also try City of Montreal gray. A Battleship gray.
I like that gray. I'm a centric OT guy tho.
The '18 T engine here was originally green.
Just a view from somewhere outside the box. :)

Hi Micheal.
Oriellys has Plasticoat engine paint in Ford grey, it's a little darker when not faded out. Holds up well. They also have a Castblast engine paint that looks good for parts that where not painted. I have had good luck with that product line but prep is the key to a long lasting paint job.
Craig.
