I have this tube coming out of my 1920 engine. Can you all tell me what it's for?

Maybe it was a return for an external oiling system that somebody blocked off with a hose and clamped nut?

Whatever it is I'd get rid of it and plug the outlet opening tightly! That looks like a disaster waiting to happen.

Someone in the past may have been trying to keep the front dip full of oil for driving up very steep hills. I would cap it off right at the pan.

Why take if off, just add a Sure-Feed type oiler to the transmission cover and use it.

I'm not familiar with those. Where can I find them?

From the pictures it looks like it is on the right side of the motor. You will need to use a Ford Faithful type oiler that replaces the stock transmission inspection cover, Chafins is making a repo I think. The Sure Feed oiler comes off the left side of motor and wouldn't work.

From the pictures it looks like it is on the right side of the motor, yes right side.

Yea, it's on the passenger side of the tourer.

There were a couple of different brands, but work about the same. When I install mine, I will be feeding in from the location you have that fitting.

Another possibility to where it might go - but unlikely. What do you know about your engine?
