I am in the process of refinishing a two cylinder, Bridgeport Brass tire pump for my 1915 Model T. What finish should be on the top cast iron part that is on top of the two brass cylinders?

This Youtube video on restoration of an original shows the orange red color on the top fitting, same as the foot color.

The top of the pump casting is brass plated. The bottom casting is painted red. The hose is red rubber. I hope this heps. Russ Furstnow

I had seen the You Tube video before I posted, but I questioned the red color of the top casting of the restored You Tube video pump, as I see no trace of red paint on the top casting of my pump. Russ Furstnow confirms my suspicion that the top casting was not originally painted red, as in the You Tube video. Thanks to all who responded.

Thanks for that clarification,missed that and should have remembered seeing those dual cylinder pumps with show car displays.
