I'm not trying to start a firestorm, but if the two people in the car are actually black (as they appear to be), I don't see anything politically incorrect about it. If they are white guys appearing in blackface, it sure is!

Loosen up! Political correctness changes with each generation. When I was a boy, all adults were to be called by their last names unless very familiar, like family members. When we were in school, we called the teachers "Miss xxx or Mrs. yyy, but there was one teacher which I didn't know whether she was married or not so I called her Ms zzz and got in trouble because that was considered impolite!
We called certain people "Colored people" now that is incorrect, however, last I was aware "People of color" is OK.
Another thing I learned in school He, She, It are singular pronouns, however They or them are plural. So if we want to use a non-gender pronoun, a new one should be coined which can be a non-gender single person.
Anyway, all this will probably change again in another generation.

Re: " I just say "Hello or HI" Then you don't have to worry about anything else!" //That seems to work pretty well, at least in this part of the world. I find that treating people like people will get you a long way. It's been my observation that people come in a variety of colors, shapes, and sizes, and most people do not make a career out of being any particular color, shape or size.

Re: OLD PHOTO - Politically Incorrect Model T Clown Car
I thought everyone'd recognize that they were dressed up like Amos & Andy from the radio show!
That show was done over the radio by two white guys who put on burnt-cork makeup when they'd appear in public--but in 1951 to 1953 the show hit television with black actors. They went on the air first in 1928 and continued to 1960.
Racism isn't funny. Amos & Andy isn't a racist show--it's a comedy which manages to stay fresh by not being some racist mess, just being a neat show that happens to have had a fun "diverse" setting. Wasn't it Gershwin who found drama & romance in black culture with Porgy & Bess? As for the two in the Model T, these guys are basically old-time cosplayers dressed up as popular characters.
In fact I was listening to a rebroadcast of a 1934 episode of this awhile ago, over a 1936 radio--some station was having fun with the old shows on shortwave. Fun little glimpse of the past.

By the way, I heard a great comment the other day on TV. "At least the plus side of 'wokeness' is that kids these days all know what pronouns are. Maybe we should work on adverbs next."

Hows this for WOKENESS, I tried using Google to look up images for Amos and Andy. It show me a few thumbnails but wouldn't let me click on them to go to the page they were from. I then tried the same search with Duck Duck Go and could see more thumbnails and could click on any of them and go to the page they were on.This definitely shows how Goggle censors what you can and can't see on the internet JUST LIKE CHINA does to their citizens.DLodge wrote: ↑Sun Sep 26, 2021 8:31 amHas anyone told the NAACP?Norman Kling wrote: ↑Sat Sep 25, 2021 2:19 pm...We called certain people "Colored people" now that is incorrect....

I despise Google and what Google has become, and I avoid it whenever I can. It's like trying to avoid the pervasive stink of 10,000 road kill skunks.

I had no trouble searching, getting and viewing images/videos via Google. Not sure what operating system you have Chrome, Windows Mac OS, iOS etc BUTJay In Northern Ca. wrote: ↑Sun Sep 26, 2021 10:15 am...

DuckDuckGo can now block the Google Chrome tracking method and perhaps the way it works (blocks) is why you had the issues. Software running in the background of your computer/phone can interfere with how other software works.
The past is a great place and I don't want to erase it or to regret it, but I don't want to be its prisoner either.

Yep, duckduckgo (my near only) comes up with some nice info about these fellows.
Neat pic Jay! I swear one of the clubs around here had one way back.

Re: OLD PHOTO - Politically Incorrect Model T Clown Car
None of my browsers, Safari, Edge, Chrome (google), or my Yahoo home page, seem to have any difficulty in providing websites, images, or videos of Amos and Andy. Any one of them will suggest wikipedia, imdb, the Amos and Andy youtube channel, and thousands of Amos and Andy photos. It doesn’t feel like I am the victim of a nefarious “woke” mind control internet bubble, at least not on this topic. My NRA, ACLU, and Sierra Club memberships all seem to work still…
I still don’t have any presence on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, so I guess that the mind control ‘bots haven’t bothered to think about me yet. To paraphrase Obi Wan, “I am not the droid that you’re looking for…”

In most instances, the purveyors of wokeness are simply using it as a cudgel with which they stifle dissent.

Can't stand the word itself, "woke" or "wokeness". Just another example of stupidly contrived, so-called "words", whose purveyors assume that everyone has immediate knowledge of. I really don't know what the definition is, nor do I want to. Speak English instead of this silly, made-up jibberish!
