Post by Professor Fate » Sun Sep 26, 2021 10:10 pm

Anybody have some pics?

Earlier headlights mount to the fender irons.
If you have 26 fenders, you’ll have to cut a hole in them.

My '26 will be clean with no fenders. That's why I need the earlier brackets that mount to the frame.
I have to clear a lot of extra metal up front at the bottom of the radiator in order to get a clean install.
I'm hoping somebody brainstormed a good way around '26 frame obstacles.

Could you shorten/bend a pair of junk Model T or A rods to make brackets?

Brackets aren't the issue.
It's the attachment of bracket to frame that interests me.
I'm using pre'26 headlights and brackets

Go to the "Hay Wagon to Speedster Project' thread, about 10 threads down.

Scroll down to Thursday Dec 10, 2020 1:39am post.

There you will see photos of amputated frame horn for the '26-'27 fender mount. Then drill holes to mount the earlier fender/headlamp bracket. Cut of the fender iron to suit, just above the lamp mounting hole.

Photo of cut off pre-'26 fender bracket to mount just the headlamps.
