Thanks for linking this Mark. It's easy to say "I wouldn't do it that way". The point is that he is using techniques that he is familiar with and that work for him. The results are pretty impressive and he can clean it up to make it look darn good. Also, he has taken the time to share it with us. Seeing it is inspiring and we can learn more from others ideas.

When I built my 1917 touring, the metal mostly OK but the wood had disappeared I was advised not to build the wood frame on the chassis but on a flat piece of 3/4” plywood to make sure it was all flat. The chassis flexes and may not even be square, so getting panels correct would be very tough.
Maybe he checked his chassis but was still on four wheels so he is relying on the springs being correct. Mine were not. I also had the same problem on the 1909 touring.
His skills look really good but I’m concerned about the front cowl not being quite square.

What impresses me the most is that he works in flip flops.
