T gen with fun products brush plate and regulator cutout. Gen motors when connected to pos lead and neg lead on case. Will not charge, Have moved the third brush back and forth, tightened it down and nothing. Even ran a jumper across the cutout, gen to bat side of the cutout and no charge. Any suggestions?

Is this a new install? have you polarized it? When running do you have any voltage from the generator output terminal with an analog meter? Battery voltage @ the regulator output side? Is the FP regulator voltage rating match your battery?

Whatever is wrong with the generator (bad null, short, etc) is now compounded with a possibly destroyed VR. The VR should never be part of a troubleshooting exercise, as it WILL be damaged by jumpering.
Good luck with the troubleshooting and hopefully you still have an operational VR when you're done, but don't count on it.

Sorry about the double post. I dropped the gen off at a local shop to see what they can do with it after I removed the reg which was a FP reg.
