Spots On Headlight Rims….

I have no clue whether these rims are nickel or chrome plated. How does one remove the tiny spots in the plating? Would it be best to use a cloth wheel with rouge and then seal with wax or is there a better option. Will decide what to do more permanently later on …

By colour, they look to be nickel plated. The spots may be the beginning of the breakdown of the plating if they are brass rims. Any polishing will be cosmetic, giving a temporary improvement until the breakdown resumes. I would hand polish them, using Autosol paste. You may have your own favourite. The final answer is to have them replated with new nickel.

Michael, since the previous owner CONVERTED the 25 to look like a 26-27, why not paint all plated surfaces black, and return it to original, eliminating the problem of plating deterioration? BTW, what's the verdict on the white wall tires?
