Questions on a Double Barrel Bridgeport Pump

Just a couple questions on this Bridgeport pump I picked up at Hershey....

1) Is this handle correct? Are the "divots" where the rod goes through supposed to be there or is it something someone did to get easier access to the nuts? I couldn't find a definitive pic online.

2) What is the correct hose? On the MTFCA site it says "red rubber" (I think from R.V.). The stub that's on there is rubber covered in a red woven material. Is the correct hose available? How long?

3) The fitting that screws on to the tire..... Lang's sells a "non functional" fitting because it doesn't have the pin that opens the valve in the tire. I believe Steve Jelf is pretty confident the originals didn't have this pin and relied on air pressure to open the valve. Will this work, or are the correct ones available?

I don't know what's correct, but I've used old Goldenrod pumps on bicycle tires, and if the check ball sticks, the pump can lift a kid off the ground when used with a pin type tire valve coupling.

your handle is the same as my pump , my pump has the needle in the fitting . it will not work without it. My pump has black hose ,I have not found any red hose yet

Looks real to me. I wish Langs would sell a leather kit for these. Next, can someone post a picture of the check valve? Mine is missing.

The cast iron parts are painted Chevy Moly orange.

These are 2 Bridgeport's that I have. I suspect the divots varied at manufacture as well as with use.

Beautiful original pump, Dave! A & L makes the hoses that appear to be cloth wrapped and suit the high points model A guys. Also, the little hose clamps. Any good model A supply house should have them as they don’t sell retail any longer. OR, an old piece of red acetylene hose would look fine. I don’t know why people want red hose, I doubt they ever had it, but looks neat.
