Post by jiminbartow » Wed Oct 13, 2021 10:12 pm

A week or so ago I asked your advice on listing my 1926 Fordor on eBay. I received alot of advice and sincerely appreciate all of your help and, utilizing all the advice I received, I listed it on eBay tonight at 10:00 pm EST along with 24 photos. Thanks everyone for all your help. Jim Patrick

Very nicely done listing!

For those that may want a shortcut?

Jim, Any way to put some spaces in the vehicle description and make the huge block of words into 3-4 paragraphs?

Yes, Mike. Good suggestion. I’ll look into it. I’m sure there is a way. May make it easier to read. Thank you. Jim Patrick

Hi Mike. I tried twice to break my description up into 3 paragraphs but each time I posted the changes, eBay did not recognize the changes and, both times posted it as one big description with no paragraph spaces as before. It was a great suggestion, but unfortunately I could not implement the changes. Take care. Jim Patrick

Yes, Ebay can be tough to navigate trying to learn the ins and outs without any help from them at all. Good luck with the sale! 😊

Jim,

I'm sorry to read that you may not be the first person to hear your T running in a very long time. It seems to me a pity also that you couldn't get the motor at least turning over 'cos I'm sure that would assist in the sale (and who knows you could even hear it going!).

If I lived anywhere near I'd offer to give you a hand but I don't, however I recently ran across a T with a similar issue (locked solid) which simply turned out the be the bendix - as you suspect in yours. To get it turning and running for the time it took to get replacement parts from the U.S. I just removed the gear completely from the starter and put it back in place to fill the hole, then it crank started fine...

It's a fairly straightforward job of a few minutes via the floorboards in the cab, I wonder if it's worth you trying that?

Luke.

Thanks Luke. As much as I’d love to get her going and hearing it run, after 17 years, I think I am ready to pass the baton and let someone else do what I had been wanting to for so long, but my knees are bad and I don’t have the desire or time for it that I once did. Jim Patrick

Well, It took awhile, but I think I sold my red 1926 Fordor for $8,500.00. Many thanks to everyone who responded to my question back in October as to what I should ask. I spoke to the buyer of the Fordor today and he is a nice guy about my age, from Texas, with plans to pick it up in March. He has never had a Model T and I told him he needed to join the MTFCA, in case he had questions or needed help, the MTFCA members were great guys always ready to lend a helping hand. Thanks again. Jim Patrick
