I am familiar with electric fence kit with the glass tube on them. I have a couple of them. But have any of you guys seen any home made primitive fencers like this? Was this the individuals idea that come up with this. Or was it a plan out of poplar mechanics magazine? The two with the wheel, I can almost see how it would have worked. It would kick back and forth in its rotation. One has a kind of see-saw effect where it would just go back and forth. The other one with the curve that goes up, looks to be missing some parts. I have no idea how it might work. I would like to make some of them work if any way possible. Thank you for any comments you may have.

Some types of fence chargers coils I have never seen.
I have seen many of the test tube and marble type.
The main function of each of these contraptions added to the Model T Ford ignition coil is to reduce the duty cycle of the electrical circuit and therby make the coil battery power last longer.

This brings back memory’s! As a kid back on the farm in the ‘50’s we had a “fence crawler” steer that wouldn’t respect the electric fence. So we used a model T coil for a day and it got “educated “!

I was hoping you would respond. Do you think you could figure these out and make them work? That is why I decided to post this hoping someone could. If you do, I would be glad to send them to you. You would not have to be in any hurry.
The two with the glass tube and marble that I have. Came from the estate of Leon Parker. I bought leon's entire estate. And there was still a few coils there and these fencers. Cyrus Sharp had told me that you had bought the majority of his coils.

Neat pictures of how Model T coils were used over the years! Use to also see T coils attached to a cane with a 6 volt lantern battery used as cattle prods. We have cattle and use to see them used by cattle haulers to get them to moving in the chute. Interesting that you mentioned buying Leon Parker’s estate. Several on the forum have wondered what happened to the Model T wood plans he had.

The Model T cattle prod idea was very effective in getting kids
on the bus in my day. I am fortunate, as an employer, to have the
kind of environment where employees are motivated by the team
and mission. But I speak with a lot of fellow employers who complain
endlessly about younger folks thinking they should get a check, simply
for breathing on the property. I have suggested some old school remedies,
such as this. In spite of their frustrations, they seem reluctant to
try something different. I can pretty much guarantee results. Seen
it with my own eyes !
