I am getting ready to remove the top from my 1927 coupe. Any suggestions on how best to do this will be appreciated.

If your car still retains the original drip rails (rain gutters) remove them carefully. The only ones available that are similar to the original profile are for a Model A pickup however, they're too short.
If the rails are there and the thin steel strip that covers the nails/screws still is present, it can be removed, carefully, by grabbing the end of the strip with a narrow-jawed ViceGrip and carefully tapping it gradually sliding it out of its channel.
If this strip is missing, or becomes damaged, a new one can be fabricated from a small, metal tape measure tape.
If the drip rails are M.I.A. there are reproductions available but, they're made from extruded aluminum. They're two piece and are an acceptable replacement. If you need to get replacements, post here that you need to get them and I'll give you the rest of the info. The replacement gutters are available from most of the vendors.

Good Luck,
Mike.
