That first photo gives a funny glimpse of the lady driver. Click on to expand the details of her face and eyes looking at the woman turning the hand crank. Can almost see her reaction….since that driver is pulling down the spark lever, while the other is cranking! Ouch….
At least the bite won’t hurt much, she is cranking with the proper left hand technique.

Almost the correct cranking technique it looks to me!
It’s her left hand alright but her thumb is on the wrong side of the crank! Hopefully this was a staged photo since the driver had the spark pulled almost all the way down! It’s a minor last defense detail that gets forgotten about until you have a wrenched or broken shoulder.
My uncle reminded me of that years ago when he and my Father pulled my Grandfathers 24 Coupe to the farm.
