Don't know where the first picture was taken, but the type plants suggest somewhere between Barstow and Las Vegas. Or it could have been Joshua Tree Monument.

Years ago our resident Dentist, Terry Horlick posted pictures of him and “Rusty” driving on roads most would not take with a modern 4 wheeler….

Somewhere my son has pics taken at a 4 x 4 function where they were testing the flexing ability of those you-beaut long travel shocks and springs to see how far a chassis could twist from front to rear. They thought they had it nailed, till somebody put a standard model T on the wrack, and it was way better than the 4 x 4s.

Thanks for that Allan ! T owners who never leave the pavement or improved gravel are missing 80% of the fun if owning one. My happiest Model T memories have nearly always been on roadless trails !

there are plenty of photos and videos on the interwebs…
The test stops when the rear wheel touches the bottom of the ramp because that is the maximum point of axle articulation. Very few modern ultra-modifed rock crawlers can match our stock Ts in this attribute.

I've done that with a 1915 on 4-wheeler trails on the north end of Lake Tahoe and it might have been the best single day I've ever spent in a Model T.

I've enjoyed getting off the pavement since 1965. Rich Bingham found me my first T and we enjoyed the rough terrain.

Here is a video of some Sierra trail driving, check the other videos on her channel. Her father took his T on the Rubicon trail in '56,57,58 and then crossed the Black Rock desert in '59. We are working on getting the 8mm film to digital for those adventures.
