I am planning on lighting my car for a parade in Lake Orion this Saturday. Few quick questions.
1. How did you light the wheels?
2. Saw the little Honda generator to power the lights..are wheels battery lighted?
3. How do you connect lights to the fenders and hood etc without paint and finish damage?
4. After putting lights on the car, how far to drive to the parade route. Can I fasten lights and drive 15 miles to the parade? then a couple of miles in the parade, then 15 miles back home? Or shouyld I paln the lighting and install it in the parade staging area?
5 Any safety grounding recommendations for the generator? I am going to strap it to the read trunck rack (no trunk)
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Looked good Bob. Glad all went well and you made it and had a good time.
In answer to question 1 I believe the wheels were individual LED strings battery powered. Hopefully Bob and/or others will chime in about the rest.

I found battery operated lights at ace hardware. 3 aaa’s we took the whole string folded in half then twisted the double string so the lights were evenly spaced. I attached them with hot glue on the rim then used a special thick rubber band to hold the battery box to the hub.

As far as attachment goes I used hot glue and some clips I found online. My TT shows it’s history unapologetically. I have tried, (with help from Tom Pilz), to have a safe machine, Rockies, rebuilt front end, new tires, etc. but the funky paint job, dents etc. show the 98 years of its existence proudly. It happens that the hot glue comes off easily and the clips didn’t scratch.

The start of our parade was about a mile away and I drove there in high ruxtle low gear. I believe it could have been shifted into low Ruxtle high gear but I didn’t try that. Some of the clips came off but no hot glue attachments.

A ‘22 touring just followed me home recently, for the most part it’s paint is shiny and bright and I would have to test hot gluing to that car. Different beast.

As far as the generator goes I did nothing more than check the oil, gas it up then make sure it was running fine and plugged in all 2000+ mostly led lights. I could use it at the econo setting and it was very quiet.

This was our first parade and we had a great time!
