1927 Touring right and left fender are different, maybe
I took the headlights off my car today and noticed on the left fender where the headlight bracket mounts to the fender it is smooth and on the left fender it appears to be molded to the shape of the headlight bracket, do I have two different fender or is one maybe bent, don't know which side is correct.

The fender with the formed headlight area is the only version I have seen. The smooth fender suggests bodywork.

Bodywork may have eliminated the impression.

This discovery plus the mutilated frame in another thread suggests to me that your T is an accident survivor, and structural considerations aside, a pretty good looking one at that, jb

Both my 26-27 T's have those recesses for the lights. I "believe" that it helped the assemblers locate and hold the light bar a little better. A blueprint drawing from Ford archives would show the indents.

Page 32 of the Rootlieb catalog notes that they will manufacture the fenders with or without the offset for the headlight mounting. Perhaps there were two versions from Ford?

the early 1926 used a stand alone headlight, so possibly that fender was from that. Checking with early 1926 owners would be a quick answer possibly.

Early 1926 fenders did not have what the 27 fenders have to locate the headlight bar

My 27 Roadster Pickup has the light bar but does not have the indentions and looks like it has never had any work on the finders except one bolt holding the light bar has been replaced years ago.

My ‘26 roadster pickup (Jan 1926) with light bar has the impression on the right fender - appears smooth on the left fender.

Re: 1927 Touring right and left fender are different, maybe
I’ll check my 26 on Friday. The frame is March of 26, and the engine is September of 25, so I really have no idea if that’s helpful or not, but it will be interesting to check.
I have this picture of the passenger side headlight mount, so it has the bar, but does not appear to have the raised portion on the fender:

I have a early 26 Tudor #12987459 comes in as Dec 1925 it has a frame number. Both fenders are identical. It has the light bar. it appears to look like your drivers side. Raised at the top and a depression on the bottom.
