I am trying to make an inter connection drawing of the 5041E (Factory Number 7661D) 8-wire loom for the 26-27 Model T.
I have been doing some research into this loom.
There is a list of 572 Model T documents at this location :
http://www.cimorelli.com/mtdl/mtdl_year_title_list.htm
Of those 572 documents I found 89 Parts Lists from 1909 – 1930
I looked at all of the Parts Lists and extracted the information on wiring looms.
It is a 26 page document.
Below is a list of Original and Factory part numbers.
I also looked at many “Original” Model T wiring diagrams to try to determine how the 5041E wire loom is installed.
They are as clear as mud.
I checked seven Model T supplier web sites and catalogs.
There is no consistency of information there either (see Below).
So, my questions are these :
1. What are the colors of the eight wires?
2. Where do each end of the wires connect?
If anyone has any experience with this loom I would appreciate any insight you might have.

Bob
That 8 wire harness is the lighting wire for the Improved Car.
So, the colors are: 2ea. wires Black/Green tracer; 2 ea. wires Black/Red tracer; 1 ea. Black; 1 ea. Yellow; 1 ea. Red and 1 ea. Yellow/Black. Total 8 wires.
These wires from the short end of the harness are fastened at the Terminal Block as those ends have fork terminals to fit to the screws there. They are fitted to the block in standard order, 6-1, like all wiring for the T.
The other ends are bare wires, with 2 exceptions, of the harness go as follows:
The Black/Green go to Bright lamp sockets on each headlamp, the Black/Red go to the Dim lamp sockets on each headlamp, the long Black goes to the taillamp, long Yellow to the (+) terminal at the starter foot switch, and the Yellow/Back to the cutout terminal on the generator.
One pair of the Black/Green and Black/Red, along with the Yellow/Black, are in the thin loom laced below the radiator.
The Red wire exits the fat loom near the firewall bracket, and goes to the magneto contact, the long Black exits approx there too, and laces to the rear of the car to the taillamp.

Re: 8 Wire Lighting Loom for the 26-27 Model T
Ted,
I know those diagrams well (I made them).
They show the complete diagrams for the model T.
I am currently working on installation diagrams for specific looms (Harnesses).
I will publish the diagrams after they are complete.
Dan,
This is the insight I was looking for.
Thanks for your never-ending knowledge.
