If you live in NJ, and have purchased you T out of state, and it came with a title, did you need a purchase order from the seller to get your NJ title, and what did it look like. Is there an online template you used?

All you need in NJ to title a vehicle from out of state is a signed title.

In New Jersey, only certain Motor Vehicle Agency’s are able to issue Historic (QQ) tags. You will need to contact Trenton and ask which one is nearest to you. In Southern NJ, it is the Runnemeade office. As long as you have a signed title for the vehicle ( out of state or in state) it is a painless process. They will not ask to see a sales receipt. They will ask you how much you paid (lie, lie, lie) and will charge you sales tax accordingly. You must give them two color photos of the car. One front and one side. They can not be copies of a photo. They will keep those. You pay the fee and walk out with Historic tags. They are good for 5 years and can be renewed for no cost. I highly recommend making a copy of your existing copy. They keep the real one that you carry in. Best of luck. Get insurance before you go because they need your policy number.
