'25 Coup Windshield

I'm in the process of assembling my '25 Coup project.
The saddle that holds the top half windscreen in has a circular "hook" that sits on the inside of the screen. What is it's function?
Or have I got something wrong happening.?
The first photo is of the right side saddle, and the second is the left side fitted .

They are finger pulls for you to pull the windshield in after opening it. I believe early 23 -24 coupes had finger pulls with two screws and were nickel plated. Late 24&25 had single screw pulls. I’m not sure they were plated.

JTT3...Thanks for that information. I would never have guessed. This coup is allegedly a '25, though I purchased only the body from the former owner as he wanted the chassis and drive train. I am in Australia, and the coup is an import( from, I presume, the USA, as the radiator shell had Ford Made in USA stamped on it). and was converted at some stage to Right hand drive. In Australia most of out T's were from Canada and stampings were from the Canadian plant. There weren't many Coups imported into Australia in 1925 and it's difficult to find a locally assembled car of this type.
These finger pulls have 2 screws, one in the base and one in the frame, and are painted not nickel.
We live and learn. Appreciate your input.

A good way to tell if your Model T Coupe is a 25 is by checking the doors. The earlier 24 Coupes had wood framed doors. I have a late 24 which has wood framed doors. The 24-25 are closely alike except for some details.
The later 25 Coupes have metal framed doors.
If your car still has the door panels you can take one off and will tell you for sure if it’s a 25.

Your windshield pulls are different than my 24 which are nickel plated so they may be 25 as your car may be also. The metal framed doors will tell you for sure.

I have read that on 1924 Fords the bottom hinges stick out farther than the upper ones, while on 1925 cars they're the same. Does that apply to all body styles, or just open cars?

The doors are BUDD doors , full metal. Also the original front fenders were the later version that the line went under the splash panel.

Steve,
The hinges on this Coupr are longer on the lower one. The curvature of the body necessitates this I guess.

Right. If there are 3 hinges, the hinge pins have to be in a straight line. I think they are vertical. If the pin line slanted out the door would swing open and visa versa.

The 25 Coupe differences from the 24 are these as I remember.

Metal framed doors, 5x1 steering ratio, front fender beading or as some call the commercial fenders where the bead goes under the splash apron, the hand brake ratchet using 2 rivets instead of 4, 21 wood wheels with option of natural spokes instead of black paint, the door handles and different shaped windshield pulls among others. These may be right but things were crossing over and there may be some overlapping either way between late 24’s and early 25’s.
Here is a pic of the windshield pulls.

Your getting it together and looking good. Here’s a tip about the top installation.
The headliner goes in first and then the top is installed last. You may already know this. Good luck.

Tony here is the info I got a few years ago from the forum about T 24-25 Coupe headliner and top information.
After I saw it it became clear as I hadn’t done it before.
