If you have ever been there you will know immediately where it is.

Riverside, California. I'd say within a block of the Mission Inn Hotel.

Great photo of Riverside Ron. Most of those buildings are still there, including the Mission Inn. I got a T shirt from the Mission inn with two Model T's on it.

Ron,
The Model T on the right does have a California License plate. I hope that helps and you are doing will at your new place.

The corner of 8th and main in Riverside California.
Today I think that main is a no car mall walkway.
8th was renamed in the 1950's to university, it ends at the university of California.
We moved to riverside in 1943 when I was 4 and I didn't leave until I went of to the Navy in 1957.

Exactly correct. A clear give away is the Mission style light standards.
This photo came from the photographic archives of the Smithsonian Institute.
This photo was taken pointing North-East at the corner of (possibly Seventh or?) Eight street in Riverside, California.
You can clearly see the Mission Inn Bell Tower at what appears to be one block to the North.
As John pointed out, Main street was converted to a no car shopping area in the late 1960's.
John, attached is another photo you will recognize.

Google Mapped Mission Inn in Riverside CA and drove the streets. I referenced the top of the Inn from N,S E and W for possible matches. The Main St photo shoes a Church tower over the top. The Mission Ave/Orange Intersection looks like a good match. Lamp post angle is just to good to be true and now I think it isn't. The tops of the buildings don't match exactly.
