In the latest Shorpy photo, there is a late model T and a Tudor A beside each other, parked in a street. Those cars are nearest to the camera, but lots of more modern machines there as well.

Good clear photo from 1942. It’s a good illustration showing the Model T and Model A we’re getting to be older used cars. Those and other T’s and A’s were still around of course but time was moving on.

I can remember here in Central Texas in the late 50’s seeing a few T’s and A’s when we
would go to town on Saturday. But as I got older they were pretty much gone from the roads around here.

Great photo from that time. The Tudor is pretty neatly accessorized too.

Twin tail lamps, and lamp on the passenger front fender, perhaps one on the other side too for turn signals?

And that hooked on trailer hitch, probably not used much as the rear bumper bars are still straight

I remember those days, but there would have been a bigger assortment of years. There were no early 1930's cars except one Model A. There should also have been more Model T's. Many people were just coming out of the great depression when "the war"broke out and no new cars made. So they kept the old ones running a long time. It wasn't until about 1948 till the common person could get a new one. They were prioritized according to need and you had to get on a long waiting list to get a new one. My dad drove a Model A until he could get a 1947 truck for his business. Then we were on a waiting list for a family car. Had orders in for several brands. The first one he got was a 1948 Nash. I can tell you the Nash was not very well built. The clutch needed to be replaced about once a year. It had a water pump low on the side of the car similar to after market T pumps and it used to leak and finally led to the demise of the engine. Unfortunately I was driving it when it happened. Dad told me to be sure to check the water before I drove it and I forgot to do so. I got on one of the early LA freeways and overheated. Then I did a very dumb thing. I got off and went to a gas station and immediately filled it up with water. The head and block were shattered. I mean there must have been 1,000 cracks! I was able to drive it home, but next morning the water and oil were mixed and that was when Dad got a Buick!

Turn signals? Must of had the same DMV inspector.
