After you use glass, sand or after sanding it’s a good idea to use air remove any particles in the cracks and crannies in the body. It can’t hurt a thing.

I’m with Pat. I would have had no trouble, whatsoever, in keeping the entire coupe as it was at the level of condition your before pictures show. Even the green paint you say the prior owners applied looked original to me. Even if it wasn’t it looked too good to remove and what was under the paint was factory original. It is only original once. Once blasted and dramatically altered, you can never go back. I have no doubt it will look great when you are done, but no amount of sanding will reverse the damage unnecessary sandblasting has done. If there is no severe, deep pitted rust, paint and surface rust should be removed with paint remover and acid wash to preserve the original smooth factory steel surface. Jim Patrick
