Does anyone use the wheel dollies from Harbor Freight. Do they work good for pushing your T around and out of the way or are they a waste of money? I have a 2 car garage that is not designed with a door wide enough to pull 2 cars straight in and if I could push a T sideways it would work great.

I use these dollys for my 5 Model T's. They make it very easy to move any way U wish.

I use them and they work very well as long as you have a decent concrete floor surface.

I have a wheel dolly set I use for my T's and my Dad's '62 Buick. I have found:
*Keep the floor swept so the wheels go smoothly over clean floor. Debris will jam you up.
*The drain grate i have catches the wheels and flips the dolly out from under a T wheel because the T doesn't weigh a lot.
*The gap between the garage door sill and the pavement will make the dolly flip too. I use a floor Jack to negotiate rolling obstacles like the grate and door sill.

But dollies are great. Makes it so easy to move a car out to get at something stored behind it too.

I have a set of 4 of the metal wheel dollies from Harbor freight and they work just fine. If you get their 20% off coupon and wait for a store sale, they aren't expensive at all.

I use the ones Will provided the link to. They work fine. If I am going to have them on them for a long time I put some small pieces of plywood between them and the tires.

I have them, and I wish I had bought them sooner. They make moving the car in a tight space very easy. When I assembled them I had an extra syringe of white lithium grease on hand from some other project and was sure to make certain that the bearings on the wheels were actually greased. There was some grease in the bearings, but not enough.

I have the Harbor Freight metal ones----the grey ones pictured above. The work good for a T, and if you have a decent back are easy to move it around. A smooth, kept floor is a must. I have one small surface divot in the floor that almost everytime catches the dolly wheel and flips it off from the T wheel. I really need to fill the divot in, I just keep forgetting.

they work great until the swivels start getting gummed up, but some penetrateing oil fixes it

I have a set of these and they make the modern ones look sick. You can actually drive or push the car on to them without jacking the car up.

Only thing you have to be careful of also, is the wheels that have a composite or plastic-like surface will get flat spots on them if you leave a car sit on them in one place for a length of time. How long, well, never really measured that, but they do. Probly in a week or so anyway.

I was going to post a photo of my T on the dollies, but I have gotten stupid and cannot figure out how to post one, even though I have done so before.

It occurred to me that I have an extra set of dollies, but I checked where you (the OP) live and it would cost you less to buy a set from Harbor Freight near you then to pick them up here in Naples, or to have me ship them to you. They are heavy!

The Harbor Freight wood dollies work fine for a Model T. I screwed a couple of pieces of 2x4 to them to better support the tires. Cheap, and sometimes on sale for 7 or 8 bucks each.

I got mine from Northern Tool, online. What I like about them is that they have a little rail on each side that keeps the wheel from rolling off either edge. Jim Patrick

I have the harbor freight 1's under my 47 pontiac and they work ok IF there is NO stuff on the floor.Use your leaf blower or broom to clean the floor before you start trying to move the car.
And 1 more thing,make sure your clutch is not stuck if you turn the engine over in the car! These little dollies fly right out from under the car if the clutch is stuck!
