McPherson Ks. swapmeet April 13

called the Tech. instructor at the auto. restoration dept. at McPherson College … the swapmeet is on April 13 from 7:00 thru 4:00 ...there are inside as well as outside spaces available … outside spaces are $20 and the inside spaces are $25 … Sander is the contact person … his # is 916-217 4827 … I will be there with my Babbitt bearing tools and linebore units and re-babbitted ball caps and 2 different adapter plates for the Chev. head on model T block conversion... hope to see a good turnout ...be there or be square ...always an optimist ...gene french

many of the meets seem to be going to a short 1 day meet, often times it seems this is by the vendors choice … an example is Chickasha … 2 day meet and many vendors leave the evening of the first day … I guess a potential buyer will not have the option of coming around late the next day to offer a dollar less for an item … always an optimist ...Gene French

chickasha was 2 1/2 days.but mostly venders. they say there will be one next year! but i wont hold my breath .charley

All my sales at Chickasha were during line-up and on Friday. I expected on Saturday there would a few shoppers who couldn't get a weekday off. Nope. There were some of us who held out until Saturday noon, but it was dead, dead, dead.

I think the 1 day meet is becoming the trend … with our Poudre Valley AACA swapmeet it is becoming difficult to get members to commit to more than a few hours of work for setup or cleanup … we have had to eliminate our kitchen and soda vending … again , no help … too old and too tired … I do still enjoy the social aspect … always an optimist Gene French

looks as though I will be adding some K R Wilson model A Ford axel tools to my stuff for sale … and will go thru my shed to find any other items that are "surplus" … I probably have several tons of " surplus" but only have a small pickup … also have some model T distributors and the Chev. cylinder head adapter plates … always an optimist ...Gene French 970-581-2808

I commented on the other post, so I'll mention it here, too.

I and the students thank you for the enthusiasm. Certainly everyone is welcome, and the swap meet is growing each year, but I don't want anyone to be disappointed. It is still small; approximately 35-40 vendors. We have a group of 8-10 from our local Flatland T's that have spaces. We have a lot of fun, tend to sell a bunch of stuff, and a I'll probably even buy more than I did this year at Chickasha, but it is small. If you do come a distance and stay over on Friday night, let me know, I'll try to provide some sort of entertainment.

And if you have any items for sale for $1, I will personally guarantee that you make at least one sale that day.

thanks for chiming in … I have spoken with several people who have indicated that they were pleased with last years meet and saw some interesting items there … don't know if they reached for their wallet or not , but they spoke well of the meet and the hospitality … always an optimist ...Gene French

The Pre War meet in Luray is Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Then , there is a one day HCCA swap meet about 120 miles away on the next day, Sunday. TWO PRE WAR SWAP MEETS in one weekend. Can not do that in Chickasha or KS or ? Dan
