I was sent these pics of 1910 for sale

do you know the engine number?

I think it’s a May 1910 number, I can’t read it clearly in pic. It has an NH on it and later engine mounted coil box.

My 1910 Touring is a May 8 build

It starts with 24 can’t really see rest in pic, I thought it may be an earlier 4 digit number not sure.

The number looks as it has been restamped. It does seem to be 24??? which would make it a May 1910 engine. It is a number 3 casting. Mine is a number 2 casting. If the number is 24172, it would be 26 cars past mine.

It has some sort of u shaped brace on bottom, probably to add clamping force to leaky rear end.

Those early rear ends were notorious for sagging, cracking, and failing in a variety of ways. Ford began with a design for the model T that was to have been cheaper to build, but turned out to be very unsatisfactory. Various ways of strengthening the center housing, reinforcing the joint between the halves, improving the bearings in both the differential and the drive shaft, were all tried, and improved again.
No doubt that odd repair was an attempt by an early owner to hold the thing together a bit longer! It looks a bit like a truss repair. Probably find the beginnings of a couple cracks underneath that thing.
Ironically, for 1915 and beyond? The rear end we mostly know and love? Looks more like the N/R/S and model K center housing. The model K Ford actually used several designs for the first time on a production car that later became part of our wonderful model T Ford.

I wish I was there and could look that car over closely! I wish I could afford it! It looks wonderful.
