Model T’s constructed for model year 1922 will be celebrating 100 year anniversary. The year 1922 may be a turning point too for the production of the Model T. According to Automobile Industries 12 October 1922, the Rouge Plant was building the phaeton and the two door sedan, whilst the Briggs Company was building four door sedan and the Coupe bodies. The documentation states that for model year 1922, 198,382 Coupes were manufactured.

In 2016, I asked forum members with 1922 Coupes to submit the motor block number and if available the body number found on the passenger side door sill. I had responses, unfortunately some were not able to provide a motor number that was for their car, but the majority did provide a Briggs Body Number. Not saying this is accurate with only seven body numbers, but it appears that the body numbers (B17 to B?(2)8 are sequential.

I would like to thank the following who submitted information beginning in 2016 – Seth, Doughty, Rodell, Kirtley, Kete, Vechorik, Boiser, and Loucks.

The intent of the project was to see if there was a correlation between Production Number (Block Number) and the Body Number. The body number based on the literature is Briggs body.

Thank you for your share.
